American Swimming and Diving: All Teams Return For Midseason Action



PROVIDENCE, R.I. – All American Athletic Conference swim and dive teams are in competition this week for the first time of the 2017-18 season.
 
Women’s Swimming and Diving
Cincinnati swim will host the Bearcat Midseason Invitational and the divers will travel for the Missouri Diving Invitational. The Bearcat Midseason Invitational will begin with prelims on Thursday at 10 a.m. ET, while the first final heats will start at 6 p.m. ET. Friday will be the same schedule with prelims beginning at 10 a.m. and finals at 6 p.m. Saturday’s prelims will also start at 10 a.m. with the final session of finals that night at 5 p.m. ET.
 
UConn will head to Indianapolis (swimming) and New Brunswick, N.J. (diving) for the House of Champions and Frank Elm Invitational meets Friday, Nov. 17 through Sunday, Nov. 19. The Huskies are off to a strong start this season holding a 5-0 record in dual meets.
 
ECU will head to Atlanta Thursday and compete in the Georgia Tech Invitational though Saturday. The preliminaries will take place at 10 a.m. each morning, while the finals are slated to begin at 5:30 p.m. each night. The field includes No. 11 Alabama, No. 13 Auburn, Campbell, Florida State, Georgia Tech and South Carolina.
 
Houston will return home for the 10th Phill Hansel Invitational Nov. 16-18 at the Campus Wellness and Recreation Center. Events are set to begin at 11 a.m. ET on Thursday and will continue through Saturday evening. Houston will face off with nine other teams over the weekend including Air Force, Colorado State, Idaho, New Mexico, North Texas, Rice, Tulane and Vanderbilt.
 
SMU will travel to SEC foe Texas A&M and compete in the Art Adamson Invitational Thursday through Saturday. The field will be comprised of 10 teams with prelims beginning at 9:30 a.m. and evening finals at 6 p.m. Diving preliminaries and some finals will occur between the morning and evening swim sessions with one diving final in the evening session.
 
Tulane will be back in action Thursday in the Phill Hansel Invitational after two weeks without a meet. The meet will bring together 10 highly competitive teams and give the Green Wave an opportunity to see American Athletic Conference foe Houston.
 
 
Men’s Swimming and Diving
Cincinnati swim will welcome Lindsey Wilson in its Bearcat Midseason Invitational, while the divers will compete at the Missouri Diving Invitational. Both events will run all day Thursday, Nov. 16 through Saturday, Nov. 18. The Bearcats diving team will face Nebraska, Drury, Oklahoma Baptist and host Missouri.
 
UConn swim will travel to Indianapolis, Ind. This weekend for the House of Champions, while the diving team will compete in the Frank Elm Invitational in New Brunswick, N.J over the three-day stretch. The men’s squad has a 3-1 overall record in dual meets this season.
 
ECU will compete in the Georgia Tech Invitational Thursday, Nov. 16 through Saturday, Nov. 18 in Atlanta. The participating men’s teams include No. 14 Alabama, No. 18 Florida State, Georgia Tech and No. 19 South Carolina.
 
SMU will compete in host No. 6 Texas A&M, Air Force, Hawaii, LSU, Incarnate Word and No. 21 Utah in the Art Adamson Invitational Nov. 16 -18.
