American Athletic Conference Announces SAAC Executive Board Members

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The American Athletic Conference Student-Athletic Advisory Committee (SAAC) has named its Executive Board for 2017-18.
 
University of Cincinnati junior Enna Selmanovic (Mississauga, Ontario), a member of the Bearcats’ swimming and diving team, is in her first year as The American’s SAAC national representative. Austin Allen (Asheboro, North Carolina), a redshirt sophomore on the East Carolina University men’s tennis team, will serve as vice chair and coordinator of community engagement; Temple University junior cross country runner David Fitzgerald (Potomac, Maryland) has been named vice chair and coordinator of public relations; and University of Houston senior Georgi Dolence (Las Vegas, Nevada), a redshirt junior on the women’s soccer team, has been selected as the vice chair and coordinator of student-athlete and alumni engagement.
 
The American SAAC serves as the voice of student-athletes who represent the Conference’s 13 member institutions spanning 21 sports. The mission of SAAC is to improve communication for all student-athletes at each member school, as well as enhance communications between the institutions. SAAC takes and active role in understanding and providing feedback regarding NCAA and American legislations, and promotes student-athlete well-being, academic achievement, personal development and community service.
