PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly women’s basketball honors for the week ending Sunday, Nov. 26.
AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Kitija Laksa • Jr. • G • USF
Laksa led the 17th ranked Bulls to a 3-1 week with wins over Butler, Washington State and St. John’s. USF’s only loss came against No. 6 Notre Dame and Laksa scored 36 points on 9-of-11 shooting from 3-point range in the 10-point loss to the Irish. Her nine treys marked a new career-high. Laksa was named to the Gulf Coast Showcase All-Tournament Team and she averaged 23.5 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game on 58-percent (19-of-33) shooting from 3-point range over the course of four games.

Masseny Kaba • Fr. • F • UCF
Kaba made her first collegiate start for UCF in a 2-1 week for the Knights that included wins over IUPUI and Northern Iowa. She averaged 6.3 points and 5.0 rebounds per game and posted a team-leading five blocks over the three-game stretch, including three against UNI.
