Flowers, Finch, Nadelman Take Weekly Football Honors

PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly football honors for Week 10 of the college football season.

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Quinton Flowers • Sr. • QB • USF • Miami, Fla.

Flowers enjoyed the most productive day of his career to lead USF to a 37-20 win at UConn. He completed 24 of 37 passes for a career-high 385 yards and three touchdowns and rushed for a game-high 131 yards on 16 carries to finish with a school-record 516 yards of total offense. Flowers became the fourth player in American Athletic Conference history to surpass 500 yards of total offense in a game and he became the seventh player in NCAA FBS history to register 7,000 career passing yards and 3,000 career rushing yards.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Sharif Finch • Sr. • DE • Temple • Neptune, N.J.

Finch led a Temple defense that limited Navy to 362 yards of offense in a 34-26 win against the Midshipmen. Finch had a team-high nine tackles, including 2.0 sacks and 3.5 tackles for loss as the Owls held Navy — the national leader in rushing yards entering the game — to 136 rushing yards, or 240 yards below its season average.

SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
Emilio Nadelman • Sr. • K • USF • Miami, Fla.

Nadelman scored 13 points, going 3-for-3 on field goals and 4-for-4 on PATs to help USF to a 37-20 win at UConn. Nadelman’s field goals were from 38, 25 and a career-long 51 yards. Nadelman, who ranks second on USF’s career scoring chart (259 points), needs one more field goal to tie the Bulls’ single-season record.

Rushed for 145 yards, including touchdown runs of 34 and 64 yards, in a 31-24 win at SMU.
 
Gardner Minshew • Jr. • QB • ECU • Brandon, Miss.
Completed a conference-record 52 of 68 passes for 463 yards and three touchdowns off the bench in a 52-27 loss at Houston.
 
D’Eriq King • So. • QB • Houston • Manvel, Texas
Completed 15 of 21 passes for 330 yards and three touchdowns and added a rushing TD in a 52-27 win against ECU.
 
Riley Ferguson • Sr. • QB • Memphis • Matthews, N.C.
Completed 27 of 39 passes for 298 yards and four touchdowns in a 41-14 win against Tulsa.
 
Frank Nutile • Jr. • QB • Temple • Wayne, N.J.
Completed 22 of 30 passes for 289 yards and four touchdowns in a 34-26 win against Navy.
