USF’s Wyckoff, Memphis’ Smith Earn Weekly Softball Honors



PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly softball honors for the week ending Sunday, Feb. 12.

AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Kristen Wyckoff • Sr. • 2B • USF
Wyckoff led USF to a 3-1 week at the USF-Wilson DeMarini Classic with a.600 batting average (6-for-10) and .636 on-base percentage. In a win over No. 6 Michigan, she reached base twice and scored twice to help the 25th ranked Bulls to an upset victory. Wyckoff had three multi-hit games and was a perfect 3-for-3 on stolen bases last week.

AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE PITCHER OF THE WEEK
Molly Smith • Jr. • P • Memphis
Smith went 2-1 in three appearances at the FIU Tournament and finished with a 1.11 earned run average in 12.2 innings pitched. The junior struck out eight batters last week and earned a complete game win over the host Panthers, who are receiving votes in the ESPN.com USA Softball Top 25, on Friday.

Led Houston with a 1.053 slugging percentage last week, turned in four HRs and 12 RBIs
 
Lindsay Crowdus • Sr. • OF • Memphis
Earned a hit in nine consecutive at-bats over the weekend, hit .786 (11-of-14) at the plate over five games
 
Julia Hollingsworth • So. • RF • Tulsa
Hit .600 over the week with a 1.000 slugging percentage, had a double and a triple against RV Northwestern
