Houston and UCF earn series sweeps to start the season

Highlights
 
- UCF used a four-run sixth inning to pull away from Siena and earn the series sweep to start the season. Right-fielder Eli Putnam finished his day with three hits in four plate appearances and had three RBIs, including a two-run home run in the sixth inning.
 
- Houston beat Wake Forest to finish off an opening weekend sweep. Grayson Padgett and Connor Wong each finished with three hits and Padgett added two RBIs. Starter John King went seven innings only allowing three hits and striking out two Demon Deacons.
 
- USF shutout Iowa to take the series from the Hawkeyes, 2-1. Luke Borders led the Bulls at the plate going three-for-five with three RBIs and a double. Coco Montes added a solo home run for USF. The Bulls also got a strong start from Peter Strzelecki who threw five innings of one-hit ball and struck out six batters.
 
- East Carolina was swept by No. 22 Ole Miss after falling to the Rebels 8-6. The Pirates pounded out 12 hits including three from Travis Watkins who also finished with three RBIs on the day. Dwanya Williams-Sutton, T.J. Riles and Charlie Yorgen each had two hits for East Carolina.
 
- Four Green Wave hitters (Jarret DeHart, Jeremy Montalbano, Sal Gozzo and Kody Hoese) had doubles in a 7-4 loss to Army. Hunter Williams drove in two runners and finished with two hits for Tulane
 
- Cincinnati lost to Northwestern State to close out its first weekend of the season. Connor McVey had a two-run single in the sixth inning but the Bearcats only managed two other hits on the day.
 
- UConn fell to UMass-Lowell to finish the weekend with a 3-1. In the loss, Aaron Hill (3-6), Anthony Prato (3-4) and Isaac Felstein (4-5) had 10 of the 13 hits for the Huskies.
 
- Memphis fell to Tennessee as Trent Turner and Kyle O’Keefe each finished with a hit for the Tigers, who went 1-2 in the series against the Volunteers.
