Softball Heads into Week Three

The 2017 softball season will head into its  third week with all seven American teams in action. 

UCF, who will continue a two-weekend road trip on Friday in Tuscaloosa, Ala., will be taking part in the Easton Bama Bash. The Knights will take on Gardner-Webb and No. 4 Alabama.

Houston freshman Trystan Melancon made her first career win a memorable one, firing a no-hitter in a 12-0, five-inning run-rule of Rhode Island on Friday night at Cougar Softball Stadium as part of the Houston Classic.

After going 4-1 on week two, East Carolina had two players recognized for their efforts by the American Athletic Conference. Senior Lydia Ritchie  was named the conference’s Pitcher of the Week while senior Ciara Evans was named to the Weekly Honor Roll.

USF wrapped up a 3-2 weekend at the Michele Smith Pediatric Cancer Foundation Tournament and will return home for a midweek game against Eastern Michigan. .
