UConn junior guard was named to the 2016-17 Academic All-America® Division I basketball teams as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) on Thursday.
To be eligible for consideration of being named to the All-American squad, a student-athlete must be a varsity starter or a key reserve, maintain a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.3 or better on a scale of 4.0 and have reached sophomore athletic and academic standings at her current institution.
Nurse boasts a 3.44 grade point average as a liberal arts & sciences major. Off the court, she has helped lead top-ranked UConn to an NCAA record 104 consecutive wins. The Huskies won their fourth straight American Athletic Conference regular season title this year and will enter this weekend's conference championship as the No. 1 seed.
