The No. 25 UCF women's golf team finished third at the Suntrust Gator Women's Invite Sunday. Seniors Ashley Holder, Johanna Larsson and freshman Maria Balcazar all turned in top-10 individual performances at the Mark Bostick Golf Course.
For the sixth time this season, Holder turned in the Knights' best performance. She fired an even par 70 in both the second and final rounds, tying fourth overall in the 78-player field with a three-day total of 213 (+3). Balcazar shot an even par round on day two that included an eagle on the par-five twelfth. She ultimately posted a 214 (+4) to finish in sole possession of sixth.
Larsson, who struggled in the opening round, came back and shot even par in round two. She then posted the Knights best single-round score of the tournament, carding a 68 (-2) in the final round. Sunday's performance vaulted her up the leaderboard 12 spots to a tie for ninth overall.
As a team, the Knights combined for an 863 (+24) finishing only behind No. 11 Duke (855, +15) and tournament champion No. 6 Florida (847, +7). The effort matches the team's best finish of the season as UCF also finished tied for third at the UCF Challenge back on February 7.
