PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Overall top-seed UConn, No. 7 seed Temple and No. 11 seed USF were selected to the field of 64 teams that will compete for the 2017 NCAA Women's Basketball Championship. Additionally, UCF, SMU and Tulane were all chosen for the Women's National Invitation Tournament (WNIT), the organization announced Monday night.
UConn, the American tournament and regular-season champion, is the No. 1 seed in the Bridgeport Regional. The Huskies will face America East champion and No. 16 seed Albany in Storrs, Conn. on Saturday at 11 a.m. ET on ESPN2. UConn is seeking its fifth consecutive NCAA Championship title and 12
th national championship overall.
Temple opens tournament play in the Bridgeport Regional, taking on No. 10 seed Oregon on Saturday at 6:30 p.m. ET. The game will air live on ESPN2. The Owls are making their ninth NCAA postseason appearance and seventh at-large selection.
USF, who earned their fourth NCAA championship appearance in the last five years, will face No. 6 Missouri in Tallahassee, Fla., on Friday (5 p.m. ET, ESPN2) in the Stockton Regional. The Bulls collected its fifth consecutive 20-win season this year.
UCF will make its first postseason appearance since 2011 and first ever appearance in the WNIT, while SMU returns to the postseason for the first time since 2013-14. Tulane has made eight consecutive postseason appearances.

The 2017 Women’s Final Four will be held March 31 and April 2 at the American Airlines Center in Dallas.
The 2017 WNIT Championship will be played on April 1 and televised live on CBS Sports Network at 3 p.m. ET. All games are hosted by participating schools.
