Spring is officially here which means basketball has reached the postseason and spring sports are in full swing!
UConn punched its ticket to the NCAA Sweet Sixteen while SMU and Tulane advanced to the Third Round of the WNIT to highlight postseason women’s basketball action around The American.
Jacqueline Keire earned All-America honors at the 2017 NCAA Women’s Swimming and Diving Championships over the weekend. Keire swam to a seventh place finish in the 200 free finishing behind Olympic champion Katie Ledecky of Stanford and Mallory Comerford of Louisville who tied for first with a time of 1:40:36.
In men’s basketball, one American team is still alive in postseason play as UCF picked up a 63-62 win over Illinois State on Monday night to advance to the quarterfinal round of the NIT. In the NCAA Tournament, both SMU and Cincinnati bowed out over the weekend.
Softball gets ready for league play this weekend, while baseball has another week of nonconference play.
