PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The UCF varsity eight earned the American Boat of the Week, the conference announced on Tuesday.
In its second regatta of the season, the Knights collected their second victory, cruising to an open water win on Lake Pickett. The varsity eight’s time of 6:31.1 was its fastest this season, with a mark nearly three seconds quicker than in a win two weeks prior. Competition on Lake Pickett included UConn, Jacksonville, Nova Southeastern and Stetson. The boat consisted of Catherine Harms, Julie Poulsen, Lauren Aiello, Ashleigh Boyd, Marija Medelinskaite, Viktorija Senkute, Mia Cleary, Edvina Nesukaityte and Zana Krakic.
The Knights return to action on March 25 at the Longhorn Invitational in Austin, Texas.
American Rowing Notebook:

- Competed on Lake Pickett against UCF, Jacksonville, Nova Southeastern and Stetson.
- In the third varsity eight race, took first place against UCF, finishing in a time of 7:18.04.

- Hosted the Hornet Invitational on Lake Natoma.
- Varsity eight improved its time by over eight seconds from the morning to afternoon race, winning in 6:42.2.

- Competed at the Hornet Invitational on Lake Natoma.
- Team logged eight wins over the weekend, with second varsity eight winning all three of its races, posting a best time of 6:49.9.
- The Aztecs will host the San Diego Crew Classic on April 1-2.
- Temple
- Opened the spring season and rowed out of its newly renovated boathouse for the first time in a sweep over Lehigh.
- Grabbed victories in the varsity eight, second varsity eight and varsity four races.
- The Owls will host the Murphy Cup Regatta on March 25.
- Tulsa
- Won three races against Kansas State on March 18, varsity 8+, varsity 4+ and second varsity 4+.
- Varsity eight won by over four seconds against Kansas State, crossing the line in 6:41.13.
- Tulsa will return to action at the FIRA Championships on March 31 and April 1 in Sarasota, Fla.
