SMU Athletics Golf 03.22.17 SMU’s McCurdy Named American Women’s Golf Player of the Week Follow @American_MWGolf PROVIDENCE, R.I. – SMU senior Lindsey McCurdy was named the American Women's Golf Player of the Week, the league announced on Wednesday. McCurdy tied for third in a field of 95 at the Dr. Donnie Thompson Invitational hosted by University of Hawai’i. The senior finished 4-under 212 (70-72-70) and notched her second Top 3 finish and third Top 5 finish of the season in the process. She tied for the event lead in Par 3 scoring and was among tournament leaders in birdies and pars. McCurdy now has 14 of her 29 career rounds of par or better this season. Houston • Sophomore Leonie Harm tied her own school record with a 66 in the second round of the Clover Cup at the Longbow Golf Club…Harm (216) helped the Cougars take third at the event. • Houston next competes at the Clemson Invitational, its final regular season event, Mar. 31-Apr. 2 in Sunset, South Carolina. Memphis • Michaela Fletcher (3-over 219) led three Tigers in the Top 25 at the 3m Augusta Invitational in Augusta, Georgia…Fletcher tied for fifth and recorded her third Top 5 finish of the season. • Memphis returns to action Mar. 27-28 at the Henssler Intercollegiate in Kennesaw, Georgia.
