Highlights
- In its first meet of the season, Cincinnati took home two golds at the Raleigh Relays. Loretta Blaut won the high jump with a mark of 1.75m and the women’s 4x100m relay team took home gold with a time of 45.20.
- The UConn men were at the UPenn Challenge in Philadelphia and won two events over the weekend. Freshman Stedman Cook won the 200m in a time of 21.66 and Ronel Forde won the triple jump with a leap of 14.40m.
- UConn’s women’s team was in Miami at the Hurricane Collegiate Invitational and Emily Durgin won the 3000m run with a time of 9:28.92 for her second title of the season.
- East Carolina was at the Raleigh Relays and took home three first-place finishes. The men’s 4x200m relay team won with a time of 1:23.26, Hakeem Horton won the long jump with a mark of 7.37m and Stefano Migliorati won the 800m in 1:49.91.
- Houston competed in the Victor Lopez Classic at Rice University and won four events. On the women’s side, Tonyecia Burks set a school record with her first-place jump of 13.23m in the triple jump and Birexus Hawkins won the 400m in a time of 54.61. The men’s 4x100 relay team won their event in a time of 39.37 and Cameron Cornelius took home the shot put title with a mark of 17.86m.
- Memphis won five events at the Joe Walker Invitational hosted by Ole Miss over the weekend. Saida Burns-Moore won the women’s high jump (1.65m), and Ashley Pryke won the javelin with a mark of 49.09m. For the men, Michael Criticos won the javelin with a throw of 64.55m, Julian Sanchez-Pinto won the 5000m in 14:54.75, and Jordan Wesner won the high jump clearing 2.16m.
- USF earned five top-three performances over the weekend at the Hurricane Collegiate Invitational, hosted by Miami. Errol Ennis was the top finisher for the Bulls taking home second in the men’s triple jump with a mark of 14.68m.
- SMU took home four titles at the Bobby Lane Invitational hosted by UT Arlington. Holly Archer won the 800m (2:09.26), Hannah Miller won the 1500m (4:31.32), Shanoah Souza won the 3000m steeplechase (10:42.69) and the SMU 4x400 relay team won gold with a time of 3:46.19.
- Temple competed in Oxford, Miss., at the Joe Walker Invitational over the weekend. Millie Howard brought home two third-place finishes for the Owls in the 800m (2:13.71) and the 1500m (4:30.28).
- Tulane won two events at the Victor Lopez Classic in Houston as Alyssa Applebee won the pole vault with a clearance of 4.06m and Daliadiz Ortiz won the javelin with a throw of 51.21m.
- Tulsa finished with three first-place finishes at the Arkansas Spring Invitational. On the men’s side Robert Tulley won the 800m with a time of 1:52.10 and Mark Middleton won the 1,500m in 3:25.81. Stacie Taylor won the women’s 3,000m steeplechase in a time of 10.33.07.
