Softball Rolls into Week Eight

The 2017 softball season will head into its eighth week with all seven American teams in action. 

Conference play will continue this weekend wtih  USF  traveling to UConn, Memphis at Tulsa, and UCF at East Carolina.

In its first home contest against a top-ranked team in the nation, UCF set the third-highest attendance in school history with 947 fans at the UCF Softball Complex. The Knights were unable to use the encouragement of the Black and Gold faithful to upset No. 1/2 Florida State.

Memphis remains at home for a pair of midweeks this week before hitting the road to take on Tulsa on Friday. Tuesday, the Tigers will host Central Arkansas and on Wednesday, Austin Peay comes to town. First pitch on Tuesday is set for 4 p.m. at the Tigers Softball Complex.

Tulsa won their ninth straight game on Sunday afternoon as they rounded out American Athletic Conference opening weekend with a 5-0 win over USF to complete the series sweep. The winning streak marks the longest for the Hurricane (23-10 Overall, 3-0 The American) since they won 10 straight during the 2014 season from April 13 to May 3.
