PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly softball honors for the week ending Sunday, March 5.
AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Alex Mycek • R-Jr. • C • East Carolina
Produced a strong week at the plate during the week, batting .769 (10-for-13) with 10 hits, seven runs scored, two doubles, six home runs (including the league's first grand slam of the season), 14 RBIs, seven walks drawn, a 2.308 slugging percentage and an .850 on base mark. Mycek tallied home runs in four of the six games, including a pair of two-home run efforts against Portland State and Seton Hall in consecutive contests March 3.
AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE PITCHER OF THE WEEK
Savannah Heebner • So. • P • Houston
Heebner improved her record to 3-3 behind her first shutout of the season against No. 5 Texas A&M.The native of Sedalia, Colo., scattered four hits and three walks while striking out five. Factoring on both sides of the plate, Heebner also plated what proved to be the game-winning run on an RBI single in the third inning as part of a 1-for-3 performance.

The freshman posted a 4-0 record and 0.00 ERA with 15 strikeouts in 19 innings of work. She notched two complete-game victories at FGCU and vs. Providence.
Kiwi McDaniel • Fr. • IF • UConn
Hit a pair of two-run HRs in an 11-3 win over Northern Kentucky on Saturday. Went 4-for-10 with two runs scored over the weekend. McDaniel leads the team in home runs (3) and total bases (23), while second in hits (13).
Kyler Trosclair • Jr. • SS • Memphis
Recorded a .588 average with 10 hits and had four multi-hit games with a double and a triple included. The Junior committed zero errors with 17 chances and scored five runs.
Maggie Withee • Sr. • 3B • Tulsa
The senior moved into 8th all-time on Tulsa's career hit list with 194 and posted four multi-hit games helping lead Tulsa to a 3-1 weekend.
Kristen Wyckoff • Sr. • OF • USF
Led the team with a .643 average and went 6-for-6 in stolen bases in five games played. The senior outfielder hit leadoff all weekend, recording nine hits and four multiple-hit games, including a 3-for-4 outing against Towson.
