UCF's Linnea Goodman and Tulsa's Emily Watson earn weekly accolades



PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly softball honors for the week ending Sunday, April 9.

AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Linnea Goodman • Sr. • OF • UCF
Goodman led the Knights with a.643 average in four games last week including a series win against Memphis. The senior went 9-for-14 on the week with three RBIs, three runs scored, and set the UCF single-game record with five hits. Goodman went 5-for-5 on Sunday in the series-winning game against Memphis and picked up at least one hit in all four games this week.

AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE PITCHER OF THE WEEK
Emily Watson • Jr. • P • Tulsa
Watson tied her own program record for strikeouts in a single game with 17 in a 3-2 win over RV/RV Oklahoma State on Wednesday evening. The junior retired 13 consecutive batters while striking out 12 through the first five innings. Watson’s performance marked her 12th double-digit strikeout game of the season and her sixth in a row. 
 
Weekly Honor Roll
Savannah Heebner • So. • P • Houston
Heebner went 2-0 and allowed one run in 13 innings in three appearances last week. The sophomore also had five hits, with two homeruns, and nine RBIs to help Houston to a series sweep against UConn.
 
Maya Thomas • So. • OF • Houston
Thomas led the team with a .563 batting average in a 4-1 week. The sophomore went 9-for-16 with a double, two RBI, seven runs scored and two stolen bases.
 
Tyler Johnson • So. • IF • Memphis
Johnson led the Tigers with a .562 batting average in a 3-2 week (9-for-16). She hit a home run in back-to-back games and had three multi-hit games. She is riding on a season-high five-game hitting streak.
 
Astin Donovan • Jr. • OF • USF
Donovan was 4-for-9 in a series sweep of East Carolina. She hit .444 with a .667 slugging percentage and .500 on-base percentage.
 
Julia Hollingsworth • So. • OF • Tulsa
Hollingsworth posted a .750 on-base percentage with a .667 slugging percentage and scored two runs in 3-2 win over RV/RV Oklahoma State on Wednesday.
