Softball Takes on Week 10

Around the League:
The 2017 softball season will head into its 10th week with all seven American teams in action.

Conference play will continue this weekend with  UConn traveling to East Carolina, Houston at Tulsa, and USF at UCF. Catch game one of the Knights-Bulls series Thursday on ESPNU AT 6 p.m. ET/5 p.m. CT.

With the bases loaded and no outs in the bottom of the seventh inning, UCF junior centerfielder Megan Greenwell caught a fly ball and started a series-clinching triple play, securing a 10-6 victory Sunday afternoon at Memphis. Sports Center highlight this play in their top 10 plays of the week.

Houston’s 22 runs against UConn on Sunday, are the most scored in a conference series matchup in The American and ties for the most ever scored by a league member. Former member Louisville (2014) also scored 22 runs in a five-inning, non-conference run rule over Ohio University on March 9, 2014. The 22 runs are also the second most scored in program history. Houston defeated Texas Southern, 25-0, in five innings on April 23, 2003.
