PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly baseball honors for the week ending April 16.
AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Hunter Williams • Sr. • 1B • Tulane
Williams helped Tulane to a three-game sweep of then first-place UConn and a 4-0 week overall. Williams hit .333 with a .722 slugging percentage as three of his six hits were for extra bases including a ninth-inning home run to force extra innings in the Green Wave’s 6-5 win in the series finale against UConn. Williams hit two home runs, drove in six runs and scored four for the Green Wave, who took over sole possession of first place in The American.
AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE PITCHER OF THE WEEK
Christian Colletti • Sr. • LHP • Tulane
Colletti appeared in three games for Tulane throwing seven shutout innings and picking up his fourth save of the season in a 3-1 win over UConn on Friday, allowing one baserunner, who did not advance past first base. He also threw three innings in relief, including two in extra innings, in a 12-inning win against the Huskies.

Kam Gellinger • Sr. • INF • UCF
Gellinger helped the Knights to a 3-1 week with a sweep at East Carolina. Gellinger hit .364 (4-for-11) with a double, triple and grand slam against the Pirates. He also drew two walks and scored three runs.
Joe Sheridan • Fr. • LHP • UCF
Sheridan locked down East Carolina in Game 3 of a three-game sweep over the Pirates. Sheridan went 7.2 shutout innings only allowing four hits and striking out six batters.
Jarod Yoakam • Jr. • RHP • Cincinnati
Yoakam picked up two wins in two relief appearances for Cincinnati last week. Yoakam threw 5.2 innings between appearances at Ohio State and USF only allowing one hit and not allowing a run while striking out two batters.
Trey Cumbie • So. • LHP • Houston
Cumbie picked up his sixth win of the season against Memphis going eight innings, only allowing three runs and striking out six while not issuing a walk in Houston’s 13-3 win over the Tigers.
Lael Lockhart, Jr. • Fr. • INF • Houston
Lockhart hit .444 for the Cougars last weekend going 8-for-18 while scoring seven runs and driving in three. In Game 1 against Memphis, Lockhart went 4-for-5 with three doubles and scored three runs.
