Highlights
- UCF competed at the Mt. Sac Relays in Torrance, Calif., and three runners broke school records for the Knights. Rosie Chamberlain finished fourth in the 800m with a time of 2:04.19, Anne-Marie Blaney finished seventh in the 5,000m with a time of 15:42.61 and Kalleigh Forrester broke the 3,000m steeplechase with a mark of 10:38.07.
- Cincinnati hosted the All-Ohio Championships and the women came away with a team win beating second place Miami (Ohio) by 47 points. The women’s team took home nine first-place medals, Juliana Madzia (10,000m, 37.39.30), Loretta Blaut (high jump, 1.81m), Brooke Catherine (pole vault, 3.90m), Irati Mitxelena (long jump 5.79m; triple jump, 12.01m), Annette Echikunwoke (shot put, 16.79m; hammer throw 63.91m), Naomi Urbano (heptathlon, 4918 points) and the women’s 4x100m relay (46.03). On the men’s side, Macklin Tudon won the discus (59.34m) and the shot put (18.18m), Adrian Valles won the pole vault (5.20m), Alex Bloom won the high jump (2.08m) and the men won the 4x400m relay (3:14.49).
- UConn hosted the Northeast Challenge over the weekend and both the men’s and women’s team came away with first-place team finishes. The men’s team won 12 individual events with John Landis winning three different events. Landis won the 100m dash (10.78), the long jump (7.48m) and was on the winning 4x100m relay team with a time of 40.58. The women’s team won 12 events as well with Divine Oladipo winning both the shot put (15.92m) and the discus (48.26), and the Huskies won both the 4x100 relay (46.60) and the 4x400 relay (3:43.42).
- East Carolina swept the team titles at the Bill Carson Invitational and earned 10 first-place finishes in the meet as well. On the men’s side, Adam Manns won the discus (54.27m), Nick Ciaccia won the 3,000m steeplechase (9:35.26), Pol Solanellas won the 1,500m (4:00.74) and Stefano Migliorati won the 800m (1:50.64). For the women, Lauren Lubarski won the javelin (47.32m), Adell Remsberg won the pole vault (3.65m), Grace Sullivan won the 3,000m steeplechase (10:45.18), Cheynne Hutchinson won the 100m hurdles (13.49) and Courtney Warner won the 100m (11.71). The men and women also swept the 4x100m relay.
- Houston competed in the Mt. Sac Relays and the Beach Invitational and took home three first-place finishes. On the men’s side, Alejandro Garza won the shot put with a distance of 17.98m and on the women’s side, Samiyah Samuels won the long jump (6.01m) and Tonye’cia Burks won the triple jump (13.53m).
- SMU traveled to the Mt. Sac Relays and two Mustangs posted top-ten finishes. Jacquette Cannon finished seventh in the shot put with a mark of 14.72m and India Simmons finishes ninth in the 400 hurdles with a time of 1:01.33.
- Temple sent athletes to the Towson Invitational and had two athletes post top-three performances. Kenya Gaston finished second in the 400m dash with a time of 57.30 and Simone Chapman finished third in the triple jump with a mark of 11.54.
- Tulane was in California at the Mt. Sac Relays and the Beach Invitational and won two events at the Mt. Sac Relays. Emmanuel Rotich won the men’s 3000m steeplechase with a time of 8:48.32 and Lauren Bartels won the women’s 10,000m in a time of 35:31.71.
- Tulsa took home two event wins at the Mt. Sac Relays over the weekend. Marc Scott won the 5,000m Invite Elite race in a time of 13:37.45 and Henry Pearce won the 10,000m Open B division in a time of 29:41.12.
