CHAMPIONSHIP CENTRAL
PALM HARBOR, Fla. – Led by two players that shot par or better, USF took a nine-stroke lead following the second day of competition at the 2017 American Athletic Conference Men’s Golf Championship at the Copperhead Course at Innisbrook Resort.
The third and final round of the championship will begin Tuesday at 8 a.m. eastern. An awards ceremony and trophy presentation will take place shortly following the conclusion of the final round.
The American Digital Network (ADN) will have live coverage of the 18th hole during the final round of the championship beginning at 12:30 p.m. ET. Once competition is complete, the ADN will carry the awards ceremony, as well as player and coaches interviews.
The Bulls shot a second-round best 283 on Monday and currently lead the field with a 2-over 570 (287-283). Cincinnati is second (11-over 579), while UCF is four strokes behind the Bearcats at third (15-over 583).
USF has two players in the Top 6 of the individual leaderboard in Jimmy Jones (-3, 139), who is first, and Cristian DiMarco (E, 142), who comes in at sixth.
DiMarco and Austin Squires (Cincinnati), who in in second at 2-under 140, each climbed five spots on the leaderboard on Monday to break into the Top 6.
Jones and Squires shot the low round of the day on Monday with a 68.
UConn’s Jimmy Hervol, Houston’s Michael Perras and UCF’s Manuel Elvira are each tied for third with a two-day total of 141 (-1). Hervol and Perras shot identical scores of 71 and 70 in the first two rounds.
