PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly softball honors for the week ending Sunday, April 2.
AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Astin Donovan • Jr. • OF • USF
Donovan had her best career outing, setting three personal individual game records in the first game of the series with UConn. Donovan was a single shy of hitting for the cycle in that game, recording a triple, double and home run. She recorded a career game-high six RBI’s, nine total bases and three runs. Donovan earned a .571 on-base percentage and a 1.571 slugging percentage in the split against UConn.

Katie Koshes • Fr. • P • UConn
Allowed just two hits in a complete-game shutout of USF – resulting in a 1-0 win for the Huskies. Koshes earned two wins and one save against Bryant and USF. The freshman struck-out 20 for the week, including 13 in the win over USF. Koshes was also part of a combined no-hitter against Bryant on Wednesday, striking out seven.
Weekly Honor Roll
Jazmine Esparza • Fr. • IF • UCF
Posted a .400 avg, .500 on-base pct. and drove in three runs on two hits to help UCF bounce-back in game two at East Carolina. The freshman recorded 13 putouts and three assists, splitting time as a first baseman and third baseman.
Alea White • Fr. • P • UCF
Posted a 3-0 mark, 1.54 ERA, and tallied her first-career shutout to clinch the series win at East Carolina. The freshman fanned six batters over 13.2 innings of work.
Christian Novak • R-Jr. • P • Memphis
Novak finished the week going 2-1 with a 0.57 ERA. She had three complete games including her first complete game shutout in the win over first-place Tulsa Saturday. Novak finished the week with 18 strike outs.
Julia Hollingsworth • So. • OF • Tulsa
Batted .571 with hits in all three games as Tulsa took the three-game series from Memphis 2-1. The sophomore reached base six times in nine at-bats for a .667 on-base percentage.
Emily Watson • Jr. • P • Tulsa
Went 2-0 in the circle to move to 18-3 on the year and struck out 11 in a game one shutout win over Memphis. Watson reached double-digit strikeouts (10) in a series-deciding game three 2-1 win.
