Houston’s Andersen Named American Women’s Golf Player of the Week



PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Houston junior Allie Andersen was named the American Women's Golf Player of the Week, the conference announced on Wednesday.
 
Andersen led Houston at the Clemson Invitational, the regular-season finale for the Cougars. She finished 5-under 211 (69-72-70), tied for fifth overall in a field of 94, and posted a career-low tournament score with her performance. Andersen tied her career low 69 in the first round and closed the tournament with nine straight pars.

Cincinnati
    • Cincinnati (301-301: 602) finished second at the weather-shortened Web.com Intercollegiate, its highest placement of the season…Junior Tara Liebert (75-75: 150) paced the Bearcats and tied for eighth individually.
    • Cincinnati returns to action Apr. 10-11 at the Tulsa Dale McNamara Invitational.
 
Houston
    • Houston finished eighth at the Clemson Invitational behind Top 8 finishes from Allie Andersen and Leonie Harm…Andersen enjoyed her best finish at a Cougar after transferring from Colorado State.
    • Houston looks to defend its title at the American Athletic Conference Championship Apr. 16-18 in Palm Coast, Florida.
 
USF
    • Senior Ashley Burke led USF at the Web.com Intercollegiate at Marsh Landing CC…Burke tied for 13th (79-72: 151) and led the Bulls to a ninth-place finish overall…Play was called after 36 holes due to weather.
    • USF wraps up the regular season at the two-day Hoya Invitational Apr. 9-10 in Beallsville, Maryland.
 
Tulane
    • Laura Munoz and Gabrielle Correia led Tulane during action at the Clemson Invitational Mar. 31-Apr. 2 at The University Club…Munoz leads the Green Wave on the season with a 74.81 average.
    • Tulane begins postseason play at the American Athletic Conference Championship on Apr. 16-18.
