Tulsa secured their second straight conference tournament title and the NCAA Tournament automatic bid as they shutout Houston 1-0 in the title game on Saturday afternoon in the final game of the American Softball Championship.
Tulsa will head to the NCAA Norman Regional for the second consecutive season and open up play against Arkansas on Friday at 11:30 a.m. CT. No. 23-ranked Tulsa split their two-game series against Arkansas in the regular season, picking up an 8-0 win at home in five innings on March 15.
The Golden Hurricane will be making their second straight and ninth overall NCAA appearance, including six of the last seven seasons. The Hurricane played in the Norman Regional last season, dropping contests to Ole Miss and Wichita State to end the 2016 season.
