Three Men's Golf Teams, Two Individuals Selected for NCAA Regionals



The NCAA Division I Men's Golf Committee has announced the teams and individuals selected to participate in the 2017 NCAA Division I Men's Golf Championships, and The American has three teams and two individuals in the field.

USF, the league's automatic bid, was selected for the Baton Rouge Regional while UCF (Murfreeseboro Regional) and Houston (Stanford Regional) were chosen as at-large bids. Additionally, Cincinnati sophomore Austin Squires and East Carolina junior Tim Conover were selected to participate as individuals at the West Lafayette and Murfreeseboro Regionals, respectively.

Six 54-hole regional tournaments will be conducted May 15-17. Thirteen teams and ten individuals not on those teams will compete at each of three regionals while the other three regionals will have 14 teams and five individuals not on those teams. The low five teams and the low individual not on those teams from each regional will advance to the finals.

Team and individual medalist titles will be decided May 26-31 at Rich Harvest Farms in Sugar Grove, Illinois. Northern Illinois University is the host institution for the 2017 championships.
