Highlights
The University of South Florida women’s soccer team defeated Alabama, 2-1 Thursday night in Tuscaloosa, Ala. Andrea Hauksdottir converted her second penalty kick of the season in the final minute of the first half to get the equalizer for USF. Senior defender Grace Adams scored the golden goal in the overtime to secure the win for the Bulls.
 
The Cincinnati women’s soccer squad battled back from a 0-2 deficit to tie Pittsburgh 2-2 Thursday night at Gettler Stadium. Senior defender Vanessa Gilles scored the first goal for the Bearcats 12’ into the second half. Senior defender Vanessa Gilles followed suit less than 10 minutes later to knot the score at 2-2 when she tipped the ball across the line assisted by Garielle LoPresti. The Bearcats outshot the Panthers 31-5.
 
SMU’s women’s soccer team finished 1-1 in a double overtime draw against Gonzaga Thursday night. Tonight’s match was the first road test for the Mustangs. The Zags took the lead in the first half to go up 0-1. Corner kick from Lauren Guerra in the 78’ resulted in Claire Oates evening the score at 1-1 and avoiding a loss on the road. The double overtime was the second consecutive for SMU.
 
Houston’s women’s soccer team fell to Cal State Northridge 0-2. The Cougars goalkeeper Rachel Esptopare had eight saves on the night.
