PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Ten American Athletic Conference teams made this year’s USTFCCCA DI Preseason Cross Country Regional Rankings list. The conference’s women’s teams made up six of the selections, while the men had four teams chosen.

The USTFCCCA Regional Cross Country Rankings are determined subjectively by a single member coach in each respective region. The regional representative is tasked with weighing returning teams’ strength with current season results (if applicable) in determining predicted team finishes at the NCAA Regional Championships.

Among the men’s programs was three-time defending champion Tulsa, which ranked fourth in the Midwest Region to lead the pack. The Tulsa women's team joined the men’s in making the list as well, taking the 10th place spot. Also representing the Midwest were both the men’s and women’s Wichita State programs. The Shockers' men's team placed second in their conference championship last season, while the women placed third.

Last year’s defending women’s champion, SMU, was picked fifth in the South Central Region. Along with the Mustangs on the women’s South Central list was Tulane and Houston, respectively. Temple was selected on the women’s Mid-Atlantic Region list.

The final two spots for the men came in the South Central Region with Tulane taking 10th and Houston finishing 15th.
