USF takes a six-game winning streak into Saturday’s game after the Bulls opened the 2017 season with a 42-22 win at San Jose State last Saturday … The win was the first for Charlie Strong as USF’s head coach … USF trailed 16-0 against San Jose State, but reeled off 42 straight points in the second, third and fourth quarters to pull away … The Bulls amassed 548 yards of offense, including 315 rushing yards, against San Jose State … QB Quinton Flowers, a preseason Heisman Trophy candidate, threw for two touchdowns and ran for another in the win … Flowers ranks fourth on The American’s career chart for touchdown responsibility (79) and needs six TDs to move into third place … RB D’Ernest Johnson rushed for two touchdowns and 99 yards against San Jose State.
