PROVIDENCE, R.I. – All 10 American Athletic Conference teams return to the pitch this week for regular season action.
UCF
24/NR returns to action on Friday, heading to Tempe, Ariz. for the Sun Devil Desert Classic. The Knights face Arizona on Sept. 1 at 6:30 p.m. ET and Arizona State on Sept. 3 at 4 p.m. ET. A double overtime victory over top-five oppenent UNC positioned UCF on the United Soccer Coaches (formerly NSCAA) poll
Cincinnati women’s will take on Northwestern
RV/21 for its first road match of the season Sunday, Sept. 3 at 2 p.m. E.T. Vanessa Gilles was named to TDS’s Team of the Week list.
UConn returns to action next weekend when it travels to nearby New Britain, Conn., to play in the Central Connecticut Tournament. The Huskies take on St. John’s on Friday at 4:30 p.m. ET and then play the host Blue Devils on Sunday at 6:00 p.m. ET.
ECU travels to Buies Creek, N.C. to face Campbell on Thursday, Aug. 31, at 4 p.m. ET, then return home Sept. 3 to host Old Dominion at Johnson Stadium for a match slated at 5 p.m. ET.
Houston will stay in Houston instead of traveling to scheduled matches at Mississippi State (Friday) and LSU (Sunday).
Memphis
RV/24 returns to the pitch on Sept. 1 against Rhode Island at the Music City Invitational in Nashville, Tenn. The Tigers will play a second match at the invitational against Indiana on Sept. 3.
SMU
22/RV faces Sam Houston State on Thursday at 8 p.m. ET at Westcott Field. SMU remains unbeaten throughout the first four games since 2001 (4-0 to open).
USF travels to Columbus, Ohio, for a match against Ohio State on Sunday, Sept. 3, at 6 p.m. ET.
Temple will play its second game in a row at home as the Owls take on Rider this Thursday, Aug. 31 with a 6 p.m. start time, then return home to host Mount St. Mary’s Sunday, Sept. 3 at 3:30 p.m. ET.
Tulsa will host Utah Valley on Friday, Sept. 1 at 1:00 p.m. ET and James Madison on Saturday, Sept. 3 at Noon ET at the Hurricane Soccer and Track Stadium. This will be just the second meeting between Tulsa and both week three opponents.
