ECU defeated Campbell on the road 1-0 Thursday. Cashlin Copley found Courtney Cash with a nice give-and-go goal in the 69
th minute of the match. The Pirates are now 4-0 on the season for the first time since 1998.
SMU
22/RV beat Sam Houston State 4-1 Thursday night at Westcott Field in Dallas, Texas. Allie Thornton scored in the eighth minute to give the Mustangs an early 1-0 lead. Vanessa Valadez converted a penalty kick in the 32
nd minute. Blair Thorpe scored her first goal of the year seven minutes later to give the Mustangs a 3-0 lead into the half. Valadez connected between the posts again with a header from Haley Thompson’s free kick to extend the lead to 4-0.
Temple topped Rider 3-1 Thursday evening at the Temple Sports Complex. Emma Wilkins scored the first goal for the Owls to equalize the score. Kayla Cunningham scored less than three minutes later off a pass by Emily Keitel. Temple sealed the win with less than four minutes left in the match when Emma Wilkins scored off a deflected rebound.
