> The American volleyball teams will compete in 28 nonconference matches through their final slate of tournaments from Sept. 15-19. Houston will host Prairie View A&M tonight at 8 p.m. ET to start off the week four action.
> Tulane is coming off a 3-0 weekend that pushed the Green Wave to the top of the conference standings with an 8-2 overall record. Tulane is 5-0 in both home and three-set matches, as they continue their home stand with three more opponents this weekend. Tulane’s libero Kaylie McHugh earned the conference’s most recent Defensive Player of the Week honor after being named MVP of the Allstate Sugar Bowl Collegiate Classic last weekend.
> Wichita State
RV (7-2) took its first two losses of the year to end a 7-0 start to the season at the Nike Classic in Eugene, Ore. The Shockers look to get back on track this weekend, welcoming another pair of ranked opponents for its home opener at the Shocker Classic. Wichita State

19 on Sunday, Sept. 17. Outside hitter Tabitha Brown leads the conference with 4.12 kills per set, and Emily Hiebert is first in the league with 9.97 assists per set.
> SMU (6-3) joins Tulane in coming off an undefeated weekend after posting three wins at the Texas State Creeds and Crest Classic. Lauren Mills was named the tournament’s MVP and the latest Offensive Player of the Week after averaging 4.17 kills, 3.58 digs, and 1.25 blocks per set over the weekend. The Mustangs have won six of their last seven and plan to carry the momentum back home. SMU will host its second DoubleTree Classic this season, welcoming TCU and Arkansas to the court.
> Temple (4-3) enters the weekend averaging 3.19 blocks per set, which is good for ranking eighth in the nation. Izzy Rapacz leads the conference with 34 total blocks, averaging 1.62 stuffs per set, which is 11th in the nation. The Owls most recently swept Boston College at home for their third straight win. Rapacz had 11 kills with zero errors on 18 swings in that match for a .611 hitting percentage.
