Louisiana won a wild season-opener as the Rajin’ Cajuns took a 51-48 victory against Southeastern Louisana last Saturday … Neither team led by more than a touchdown in a game that featured eight lead changes … Southeastern Louisiana scored a touchdown with 42 seconds left in the fourth quarter to pull within one point, but went for the two-point try and the lead before Louisana returned a fumble 98 yards for two points on defense … RB Raymond Calais was chosen as the Sun Belt’s Special Teams Player of the Week after he returned two kickoffs for touchdowns in the first quarter, scoring on runs of 97 and 100 yards … QB Jordan Davis completed 12 of 23 passes for 162 yards and a touchdown in his first career start … RB Trey Ragas rushed for 61 yards and a TD on four carries.

Tulsa dropped its first season-opener since 2013 as the Golden Hurricane fell 59-24 to No. 10/11 Oklahoma State in Stillwater, Oklahoma … The Cowboys raced to an early 21-0 lead and built a 38-17 halftime cushion before the second half played out more evenly … QB Chad President made his first career start and completed 18 of 35 passes for 178 yards … President also had 69 rushing yards on eight carries … RB Corey Taylor II rushed for 111 yards and two touchdowns on 20 carries … WR Keenan Johnson finished with a game-high seven receptions for 52 yards … S McKinely Whitfield had 10 tackles and 3.0 tackles for loss … RB D’Angelo Brewer, who was named to the preseason watch list for the Maxwell Award, was held to 33 rushing yards on 22 carries … C Chandler Miller and OT Evan Plagg are both on the Outland Trophy watch list.
