Cincinnati made a winner of new coach Luke Fickell in his Bearcat debut, a 26-14 victory against Austin Peay last Thursday … Cincinnati was outgained (313-248) and had fewer first downs than Austin Peay (20-15), but took advantage of two Governor turnovers to get the win … QB Hayden Moore threw for 151 yards and three touchdowns against Austin Peay, completing 17 of 28 passes … RB Mike Boone, who was limited by injury last season, returned to the lineup to rush for 100 yards and a TD on 19 carries … Six players had at least two receptions, led by WR Thomas Geddis and WR Khalil Lewis, who had four catches each … The defense was paced by S Malik Clements, who had a game-high 18 tackles, while LB Perry Young, had 17 tackles, 3.0 tackles for loss and a forced fumble.

Michigan is off to a 1-0 start after the Wolverines took a 33-17 winner against No. 17/16 Florida at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas … Michigan ended Florida’s 27-year winning streak in season-openers, which was the longest such streak nationally … Michigan limited Florida to 192 total yards and nine first downs, as the Wolverine defense registered six sacks and force dthree turnovers … After allowing a field goal on Florida’s opening drive, Michigan allowed the Gators to cross midfield only twice the rest of the way … QB Wilson Speight completed 11 of 25 passes for 181 yards and a touchdown … QB John O’Korn, the 2013 American Athletic Conference Rookie of the Year at Houston, saw action in the second quarter … K Quinn Nordin made four field goals, including two from outside 50 yards.
