Cincinnati And Houston Earn Swimming And Diving Accolades



PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The American Athletic Conference announced its swimming and diving weekly honors for the week ending Jan. 21.
 
Female Swimmer of the Week
Zarena Brown * So. * Houston
Brown produced three first-place individual times and one first and second-place relay finish last week in a tri-meet against Arkansas and Vanderbilt. The sophomore earned a first-place finish in the 100 free and 200 free with personal-best times of 51.41 and 1:50.49, respectively. Her 200 free time ranks eighth-best in The American. The Arvada, Colorado native also posted a first-place finish in the 500 free with a time of 4:56.54. Brown helped her relay team place first in the 400 medley (3:45.24) and second in the 200 free with a time of 1:35.24.
 
Male Swimmer of the Week
Chris Bready * Sr. * Cincinnati
Bready finished first and runner-up in individual races against Xavier and Virginia Tech. The senior touched the wall first in the 1000 free with a time of 9:08.04, a third-best time in The American Athletic Conference. Bready finished second in the 500 free with a conference top-10 time of 4:31.33.
 
Female Diver of the Week
Micaela Bouter * Sr. * Houston
Bouter earned third and second-place scores in the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events this past weekend at the CRWC Natatorium. The senior finished with 291.15 points in the 1-meter and 325.95 points in the 3-meter.
 
Male Diver
Mitch Godar * Sr. * Cincinnati
Godar produced third and sixth-place finishes in the 1-meter and 3-meter against Xavier and Virginia Tech last week. The senior finished with 333.40 points in the 1-meter and 265.70 points in the 3-meter.
