PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly women’s basketball honors for the week ending Sunday, Jan. 7.
AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Jasmyne Harris • So. • G • Houston
Sophomore guard Jasmyne Harris averaged 30 points last week. Harris had 26 points in a win over Wichita State last Tuesday and recorded 34 points, 11 rebounds and dished out eight assists to help Houston overcome a 21-point deficit at Tulane Saturday night. She was 11-of-21 from the floor against the Green Wave, sinking six of the eight 3-pointers she took in the contest. The career-high 34 point performance makes Harris the first Cougar to have multiple 30-point games in a season since Porsche Landry scored 30 points twice during the 2012-13 season.
