AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE NAMES SAAC EXECUTIVE BOARD MEMBERS

PROVIDENCE, R.I. –  The American Athletic Conference Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) has named its Executive Board for the 2018-19 school year.
 
Enna Selmanovic (Mississauga, Ontario), a member of the University of Cincinnati women’s swimming and diving team, is in her second year serving as The American’s SAAC national representative. She also is vice chair of the NCAA Division I SAAC.  David Fitzgerald (Potomac, Maryland), a redshirt junior on the Temple University cross country and track and field teams, returns for a second year on the SAAC executive board as vice chair. Din Selmanovic (Mississauga, Ontario), a junior on the Cincinnati men’s swimming and diving team has been selected to serve as coordinator of public relations; Lindsey Smith (Poughkeepsie, New York), a junior on the University of Tulsa rowing team, will serve as coordinator of alumni relations;  Grace Sullivan (Charlotte, North Carolina), a senior on the ECU women’s cross country and track and field teams, has been named coordinator of community engagement; and  Elizabeth Woerner (Bloomington, Illinois), a senior on the University of Memphis women’s soccer team, will serve as coordinator of student-athlete engagement.
 
The American SAAC serves as the voice of student-athletes who represent the Conference’s 13 member institutions. The mission of SAAC is to improve communication for all student-athletes at each member school as well as enhance communications between the institutions. SAAC takes an active role in understanding and providing feedback regarding NCAA and American legislations, and promotes student-athlete well-being, academic achievement, personal development and community service.
