Highlights
- Cincinnati completed competition at the Akron Zips Classic on Saturday with the men's team finishing in second place with 762.5 points and the women finishing third with 465.5 points.
- Andrea Podmanikova clocked the second fastest 200-yard breaststroke in the country this season to lead the Mustangs on day two of the SMU Classic at the Robson & Lindley Aquatics and Barr-McMillion Natatorium. SMU finished the two-day event in sixth place. Podmanikova's 2:09.57 in the 200 breast was just off her personal best and meets the NCAA B standard for the 2019 NCAA Division I Swimming and Diving Championships.
- ECU men and women's swimming and diving each captured their first win of the season Saturday topping William & Mary at the Rec Center Pool. The men (1-1) defeated the Tribe by a final mark of 136-126, while women (1-1) claimed victory by the exact same score.
- Freshman Marek Osina, the reigning American Athletic Conference Swimmer-of-the-Week, led the ECU men's team with three individual victories, including a pool-record performance in 200 IM (1:50.84), and aided in the 200 medley relay team's first-place finish. freshman Mariana Vignoli earned first-place in the 500 and 1000 (10.09.99) freestyle and finished second in the 200 freestyle (1:54.41) and helped the Pirates capture victory in the 400 freestyle relay.
- Houston closed out the Rice Fall Invitational with a second-place finish, racking up 923.50 points. On the other side of the town, the Houston divers swept all three diving events at the first-ever Houston Diving Invitational.
