PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly football honors for the 11th week of the college football season.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Ryquell Armstead • Temple • Sr. • RB • Millville, N.J.
Armstead rushed for 210 yards and an American Athletic Conference-record six touchdowns to lead Temple to a 59-49 win at Houston, keeping the Owls a game out of first place in The American’s East Division standings. Armstead scored on runs of 5, 4, 2, 33, 4 and 6 yards as part of a Temple offense that gained 537 yards.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Roderic Teamer Jr. • Tulane • Sr. • S • New Orleans, La.
Teamer had a team-high 10 tackles to go with a sack and two pass breakups to help the Green Wave to a 24-18 win against ECU. Teamer led a defense that set an NCAA single-game record with 20 pass breakups and held the Pirates to 31-percent passing on 67 attempts.
SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Pop Williams • Memphis • Jr. • WR • Destrehan, La.
Williams had 109 yards on four punt returns, including a 72-yard return for a touchdown, in Memphis’ 47-21 win against Tulsa. Williams, who also scored a touchdown on a 1-yard reception in the first quarter, is the American Athletic Conference leader in punt return average at 12.9 yards per return.

Completed 17 of 21 passes (80.1 percent) for 200 yards and two touchdowns and added 62 rushing yards and a rushing TD in a 35-24 win against Navy, the Knights’ 22nd straight victory.

Rushed for 151 yards and three touchdowns on 28 carries and had a touchdown reception in a 35-23 win against USF.

Rushed for 166 yards and two touchdowns on 23 carries in a 47-21 win against Tulsa.

Rushed for 116 yards and three touchdowns on 17 carries in a 62-50 win at UConn.

Had six receptions for 217 yards and two touchdowns in a 24-18 win against ECU.
