PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The 2018 American Athletic Conference women's soccer season continues into the second round of the NCAA Tournament on Friday, November 16, at 5 p.m., on ESPN3.
The No. 20/14 nationally-ranked USF Bulls used an impressive offensive output in the First Round to down Albany, 5-1. USF now faces off against in-state foe, No. 5/4 Florida State.
The Bulls advance to the second round for the just the third time in program history.
USF boasts 15 NCAA Tournament goals in seven all-time matches with three victories.
Junior Evelyne Viens, the 2018 American Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Year, continues to show why she is one of the top players in the country and a leading candidate for the MAC Hermann Award.
Viens paces an offensive unit that ranks No. 1 in the nation with 8.39 points per game and first in the country with 2.94 goals per match. The Bulls are also fourth with 53 total goals and boast the eighth-best winning percentage at .833.
Individually, Viens is the national leader in four different statistical categories. She is first in the country with 1.1 goals per game, 2.61 points per game, 2.83 shots per game and 20 total goals. She has also had nine game-winning scores this year, good for ninth nationally.
Florida State hosts both the second and third rounds this weekend with No. 19 LSU and No. 6 USC also in Tallahassee.
The victors of each match will square off in the Sweet 16 on Sunday, November 18 at 1 p.m.
