UConn's Collier and USF's Harvey Tabbed Women's Basketball Weekly Awardees

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly women’s basketball honors, for the week ending Sunday, Nov. 25.
 
Player of the Week
Napheesa Collier * Sr. * F * UConn

Collier was named the Paradise Jam Reef Division Most Outstanding Player following No. 2 UConn’s 3-0 performance in the U.S. Virgin Islands, averaging 18.0 points, 9.7 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 1.3 steals per game. The O’Fallon, Mo. native turned out a pair of double-doubles, one against Ole Miss and another against Purdue, topping out at 19 points against the Boilermakers. She dished out a season-high six assists in the Huskies’ 10-point win over St. John’s. For the week, Collier connected on 58.8 percent (20-of-34) from the field as UConn moved to 9-0 all-time in the Paradise Jam.
 
Freshman of the Week
Sydni Harvey * Fr. * G * USF
Harvey set three-consecutive career highs in points at the Paradise Jam last week, averaging 17.3 points, 3.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists for No. 17 USF. She began her week with 16 points against Kentucky, followed with 17 points against North Carolina and capped the tournament with 19 points in the Bulls’ win over UCLA. Harvey was 10-of-15 from beyond the arc on the week, including back-to-back performances with four 3-pointers, and shot 42.5 percent from the field over the three contests. The Nashville native was named to the Paradise Jam Island Division All-Tournament Team.

Led UCF with 20.7 points, 5.0 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 1.3 steals per game in a 2-1 week for the Knights; dropped a career-high 31 points against Central Michigan and was perfect from the foul line on the week

Scored a career-high 25 points on 11-of-19 (57.9 percent) to go along with nine steals in the Pirates’ win over Wake Forest; the victory marked the first for ECU over an ACC opponent since 2007
 
Jasmyne Harris * Jr. * G * Houston
Averaged 20.5 points, 7.0 rebounds, 7.5 steals and 5.0 assists in Houston’s 1-1 week; registered 28 points against New Mexico and tied the American single-game record with 10 steals
 
Alicia Froling * R-Sr. * F * SMU
Averaged a double-double for the third-straight week with 15.0 points and 12.0 rebounds; named the LMU Thanksgiving Classic Most Valuable Player with 19 points and 12 boards against Northern Arizona on Saturday
 
Krystal Freeman * So. * F * Tulane
Averaged 19 points, including a career-high 22 against Cleveland State and 16 against No. 18 California, and 8.5 rebounds for the Wave, shooting 53.3 percent (16-of-30) from the field
