Highlights
American Athletic Conference baseball teams wrapped up their weekend series on Sunday with eight games, as the conference went 6-2 against nonconference opponents. Six of the nine league teams ended the weekend with a series victory. UCF, ECU, Houston and USF scored double-digit runs to claim their Sunday victories. The Pirates and the Cougars each posted series wins over top 25 teams, while the Knights and Shockers enjoyed weekend sweeps. The American’s .589 winning percentage this year is the fourth-best among NCAA Division I conferences this season.

- Wichita State won its doubleheader against Omaha to remain undefeated with a 6-0 record through its home-opening weekend.  Wichita State used 7.1 shutout innings from freshman Liam Eddy to shut out Omaha 3-0 in Game 2. The Shockers used three home runs to defeat Omaha 6-2 in Game 3 en route to the series title. Third basebman Alec Bohm was on the back end of back-to-back homeruns, going 2-for-3 with an RBI. The home run extended Bohm's hitting streak to eight, as he had two hits in Game 2.

- Chris Holba tossed seven shutout innings, while catcher Jake Washer drove in a career-best four runs helping ECU to a 12-0 win over No. 6 North Carolina. With the win the Pirates improve to 6-1 and claimed the series win. The Pirates had 12 hits with eight different players recorded at least a base knock.

- No. 19 Houston had 12 hits in a 10-5 win over No. 13 Cal State Fullerton to secure the series victory. Second baseman Rey Fuentes III and designated hitter Landon Etzel each recorded a career-high three hits.

- The offense soared for No. 24 UCF, as four different batters had multi-hit games on the way to a 15-4 win over Savannah State to sweep the series. The Knights tallied six runs in the second inning and another six in the fifth inning. Second baseman Matthew Mika went 4-for-4 with two RBIs and three stolen bases.

- USF’s offense surged on the way to clinching the series after a 13-4 Game 3 thrashing against Fordham. Both shortstop Coco Montes and catcher Tyler Dietrich went 4-for-4. The team ended the day with 13 hits.
