PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly women’s basketball honors for the week ending Sunday, Feb. 4.
AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Gabby Williams • Sr. • F • UConn
In two wins last week, senior Gabby Williams averaged 13.5 points, 12.0 rebounds and 6.0 assists with a pair of double-doubles for the top-ranked Huskies. In UConn’s 83-58 win at 7/6 South Carolina on Thursday, she totaled 14 points on 6-of-8 shooting with a team-high 14 rebounds and five assists, with six of her boards coming on the offensive end. Two days later, Williams put forth a 13-point, 10-rebound, seven-assist outing as the Huskies defeated Cincinnati 106-65.

Lashonda Monk • Fr. • G • ECU
Freshman Lashonda Monk was ECU’s leading scorer in both of the Pirates’ contest last week, averaging 19.5 points, 6.5 assists and seven steals in two wins. On Tuesday, she set a new career-high with 19 points and dished out seven assists in ECU’s 77-67 victory over Wichita State. The Pirates the downed SMU 76-47 on Saturday, during which Monk dropped 20 points and recorded the second-highest single-game steal total in ECU program history with 10. For the week, she shot 55 percent (15-of-27) from the floor.

Averaged 15.5 points and 12.5 rebounds as UCF claimed its fourth- and fifth-straight victories, including her first collegiate double-double with 14 points and 18 rebounds at Cincinnati on Tuesday. Kaba went 15-of-26 (57.7 percent) from the field on the week
Alex Frazier • Jr. • G • ECU
Scored 12 points in each of ECU’s wins last week, combining for 10 assists, seven rebounds and six steals against Wichita State and SMU. She reached her point totals on 12-of-18 shooting (66 percent) for the week
Jasmyne Harris • So. • G • Houston
Averaged 22.0 points, seven rebounds, five assists and three steals to lead Houston past Tulane and Wichita State last week. The sophomore has reached double-figure scoring totals in the last 15 games for the Cougars
Maria Jespersen • Sr. • F • USF
Registered her second- and third-consecutive double-doubles in a 2-0 week for the Bulls, including a 26-point performance at Tulsa and a 21-point outing at Tulane. She snagged 13 rebounds in each contest and gathered 27 of her points for the week from the foul line
Tanaya Atkinson • Sr. • G • Temple
Put forth two double-doubles on the week, including a 30-point, 11-rebound performance against Tulsa on Saturday that included the game-winning bucket for the 76-75 win. Averaged 20.5 points, 11.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists for the Owls
