USF Opens Spring Season with Sea Best Invitational Title

PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla.  -- USF men's golf started its spring season in stride with a one-shot victory at the Sea Best Invitational on Tuesday.

Down by four shots entering the day, USF (-6) carded a 1-over 281 in the final round to rally past No. 20 Arkansas (-5). Liberty (-1), No. 11 LSU (+2) and No. 28 Tennessee (+3) rounded out the top five at TPC Sawgrass' Dye's Valley Course (par 70, 6,858 yards).

Dating back to the fall finale, USF has won two straight tournaments and secured its latest title victory with four Bulls finishing in the top 25.

Seniors Cristian DiMarco and Claudio Correa both tied for 11th place at 2-under, four shots away from the individual lead.

DiMarco jumped up 14 spots on the leaderboard with a 3-under 67 in the final round that included six birdies. Correa (Santiago, Chile) was tied for the lead on the final hole and shot par or better on 17 holes in the final round.

Senior Jimmy Jones tied for 16th at 1-over in his third consecutive top-25 finish. Sophomore Kyle Flexsenhar tied for 23rd at 3-over in his third top-25 performance of the season. Senior Priyanshu Singh bounced back on the final day with an even-par 70 to move up 14 spots to a tie for 44th place.
