Highlights
No. 23 UCF, USF and Wichita State earned series sweeps, while Tulane’s 6-2 victory over Purdue in the rubber match gave the Green Wave a series win. Six American Athletic Conference teams captured a series victory this weekend, as the conference went 4-3 on Sunday.
- UCF extended its winning streak to 12 games on Sunday with a 10-8 win over Siena to clinch the weekend sweep. The Knights completed the sweep behind 14 strikeouts from the pitching staff and 15 hits on offense. Tyler Osik led the way offensively with a 3-for-4, six RBI performance, while Jordan Spicer tossed a season-high seven punchouts to improve to 3-0 on the year.
- USF was on the better end of a 16-run game three, defeating Central Michigan, 10-6, to clinch its first sweep of 2018. Four Bulls had multiple hits in the game, as Chris Chatfield had a game-high three hits.
- Keagan Gillies struck out 11 batters over 7.0 innings and outfielder Grant Witherspoon hit two home runs to lead Tulane baseball to a 6-2 series-clinching win over Purdue.
- Gunnar Troutwine's walk-off single gave Wichita State a 5-4 win over UT Arlington in 10 innings to sweep the three-game series. Troutwine finished 3-for-5 with three RBIs, while Dayton Dugas went 4-for-5 with three runs including the game winner.
