2018 NCAA TOURNAMENT BRACKET | 2018 WNIT INFORMATION
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Overall top-seed UConn and No. 6 seed USF were selected to the field of 64 teams that will compete for the 2018 NCAA Women's Basketball Championship as announced Monday evening. Additionally, UCF, Cincinnati and Houston were all chosen for the Women's National Invitation Tournament (WNIT).
UConn (32-0), the American tournament and regular-season champion, is the No. 1 seed in the Albany Regional. The Huskies will square off with the Northeast Conference Champion Saint Francis (Pa.) in Storrs, Conn. on Saturday at 11 a.m. ET on ESPN2. UConn is seeking its 12
th NCAA Championship title in their 30
th overall appearance in the bracket.
With a 26-7 overall slate, USF will embark on its fourth-straight NCAA Tournament trip against No. 11 Buffalo in Tallahassee, Fla. at 1:30 p.m. ET on ESPN2. Buffalo (27-5) reaches the tournament on an at-large bid after falling to Central Michigan in the MAC title game. USF reached its fourth-consecutive American tournament final a week ago in its sixth-consecutive 20-win season.
UCF (21-10) makes its second-consecutive trip to the WNIT on the heels of a third-place regular-season finish in The American, collecting the conference’s automatic bid. Cincinnati (19-12) earns its first postseason bid since 2012, with Houston (20-11) making the WNIT field for its first postseason trip since 2011. Official matchups for the WNIT field will be announced at 11:30 p.m. Monday evening.
The 2018 NCAA Women’s Final Four will be held March 30 and April 1 at Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio.
The WNIT First Round will tip off March 14 and continue through March 16. The 2017 WNIT Championship will be played on March 31 and televised live on CBS Sports Network at 3 p.m. ET. All games are hosted by participating schools.
