PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Memphis senior Emily Goldenstein (Chesterfield, Mo.) was named the American Athletic Conference Women’s Golf Player of the Week on Wednesday after leading the Tigers at the 3M Augusta Invitational.
Goldenstein is collecting conference honors for the second time this season and third in her career.
The senior fired three consistent rounds at Forest Hills Golf Club in Augusta, Georgia, opening with a 2-under par 70 before consecutive rounds of 71 (70-71-71 – 212) to finish in a tie for third among the 87-player field. Goldenstein finished ahead of all three Golfstat top 100 players in the tournament.
As a team, Memphis took fifth (296-296-297 – 889), besting No. 47 Virginia Tech by a single shot.
The Tigers will be back in action on April 2-3, competing at the Charleston Invitational in Charleston, S.C.
