PROVIDENCE, R.I. – UCF sophomore Bobby Bai was named the American Athletic Conference Men's Golf Player of the Week on Wednesday after collecting medalist honors at the weather-shortened Boilermaker Invitational.
Playing on the Kampen Golf Course in West Lafayette, Ind., Bai opened the tournament with round of 70 and 69 to enter the final round at 5-under par and owning a one-shot lead. In his second round, Bai recorded eight birdies and an eagle.
Over the two rounds, Bai blistered the Kampen Course’s par 5’s, playing them in 6-under par to lead the field with a 4.25 scoring average.
Its regular season concluded, UCF will next compete at the American Athletic Conference Men’s Golf Championship presented by Visit St. Pete Clearwater on April 22-24. The championship will be contested at the Copperhead Course at the Innisbrook Golf Club. The American Digital Network will have live coverage of the final round of the championship, beginning at approximately 11:30 a.m. ET.
