Pierre Luquet won a second-set tiebreaker at No. 4 singles to get the clinching point and send USF to its fifth straight American Athletic Conference Championship final as the Bulls eliminated top-seeded Memphis Saturday.

The win improved USF to 14-0 all-time in the American Athletic Conference Championship as the Bulls seek their fifth consecutive conference title. Memphis, ranked No. 18 nationally, saw its 13-match winning streak come to an end.

Luquet's win at No. 4 came minutes after USF's Grayson Goldin scored a three-set win at No. 3 singles as the Bulls scored the final two team points. The two late wins allowed USF to split the singles ladder with Memphis, leaving the Bulls' team point in doubles as the deciding factor in the win.

The Bulls won at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles to get on the board first as the pairing of Goldin and Alberto Barroso-Campos took a 6-3 win against Memphis' 38th-ranked tandem at the top of the ladder, and Peter Bertran joined Jakub Wojcik for a 6-2 victory at No. 2.

After inclement weather moved the competition indoors for singles, the teams split the first two singles matches that were completed as USF built a 2-1 lead, but Memphis' two nationally ranked singles players deliered wins at the top two spots, giving the Tigers a 3-2 lead with two matches remaining.

USF, needing both wins to claim the match, saw Goldin take a 6-3, 3-6, 6-4 win at No. 3 to tie the score at 3-3. Luquet was locked in a 6-6 tie in the second set against Memphs' Chris Patzanvsky at No. 4, but Luquet took the tiebreaker 7-0 to send the Bulls to the final.
