UConn, ECU and Memphis clinch Sunday wins

Highlights
No. 10 ECU (13-8) walked off against Cincinnati to remain in contention for a share of the regular season title with Houston (16-8), as No. 18 UConn and Memphis also picked up a Sunday wins. Wichita State's series finale with No. 22 USF ended in a 9-9 tie due to conference travel curfew rules. The teams will play their final midweek nonconference games before closing out their regular seasons in conference play next weekend.
 
Third baseman Connor Litton's two-RBI single in the bottom of the ninth scored Bryan Packard and Bryson Worrell giving No. 10 ECU a 6-5 walk-off win over Cincinnati to clinch the rubber match. The Pirates registered nine hits on the day getting three from Washer and two from Packard. The Pirates will need to sweep its final series of the season at UConn next weekend in order to clinch a share of the regular season title with Houston.
 
UConn bounced back from a doubleheader sweep on Friday to take the series finale against Houston on Sunday, 6-4—preventing the Cougars from clinching the conference’s outright regular season title. With the win, the Huskies are in fourth place in conference standings with a 12-9 record. UConn scored a pair of runs in the eighth inning to capture the win. Shortstop Anthony Prato provided a big insurance run with an RBI double into right centerfield to give P.J. Poulin a little breathing room. Poulin secured the win with two scoreless frames.
 
USF and Wichita State battled for nearly 11 innings and more than four hours before the game was halted. USF moved to the sole third-place spot in the standings with a 12-8-1 record, while Wichita State clinched the final 2018 American Athletic Conference Baseball Championship spot with the tie. USF did its damage using 16 hits, as outfielder Kyle Phillips accounted for four of them. For the Shockers, third baseman Alec Bohm went 2-for-5 with three RBIs and a home run, while outfielder Greyson Jenista went 2-for-3 with three RBIs and a double.
 
Memphis scored on a wild pitch in the eighth inning to beat Tulane 3-2 on Sunday at Turchin Stadium. Blake Bennett pitched the final 2.1 innings to record the win. Alec Trela was 2-for-3 with one RBI and one run scored to lead Memphis offensively. Carlos Williams also had a two-hit day from the leadoff spot. Despite Sunday's win, the Tigers are eliminated from contention for the American Athletic Conference Tournament.
