STILLWATER, Okla. – Houston junior Leonie Harm is within striking distance of the lead through two rounds at the NCAA Women’s Golf Championship on the Karsten Creek Golf Club. Harm shot a 2-over par round of 74 in her second round and sits at 1-over overall, tied for 13
th place, through two rounds at the championship.
On the challenging par-72, 6,328-yard layout, just 15 players shot rounds at under par or better. Harm, the 2018 American Women’s Golf Player of the Year, was even par for most of her round before a late double-bogey dropped her to 2-over on the day.
Going out early, Harm recorded eight straight pars to start her round before a birdie at the par-5 ninth hole sent her out in 1-under par. A bogey on hole No. 13 and a double at No. 17 brought her home in 39 and 74 overall.
Harm sits six shots out of the lead for the second straight day; three players – Arizona’s Bianca Pagdanganan, Cheyenne Knight of Alabama and Wake Forest’s Jennifer Kupcho – share the lead at 5-under par through two rounds.
Entering Sunday’s third round, Harm is in position to advance to Monday’s final round. The top-15 teams and nine individuals not on an advancing team will compete in the final 18 holes of stroke play on Monday to determine the NCAA individual national champion and the top-8 teams that will advance to match play.
